The association “Polo Museale Parisi-Valle” was set up in 1999, when the museum was inaugurated; its purpose is to direct all cultural activities and valorize the material donated by Proffessor Giuseppe Vittorio Parisi to the Comune of Maccagno.

The communal administration - owner of the bridge-like building that houses the museum - and the association base their relationship on an agreement that preserves each organ’s autonomy. However, the two institutions share the same desire of promoting arts and culture from an area much wider than the communal territory.

The association’s delicate task is to find a balance between exhibits as well as recreational activities within the museum and the unavoidable limits of their budget.
Since the museum’s only sources of income are the fees paid by the members and the sale of gadgets and books relating to arts, the association has to find sponsors for its activities among public institutions and citizens.

Every three years the Members Commitee selects between five and nine people who will be part of the board of administration: a representative of Regione Lombardia, one of the Province of Varese, one of the Comune of Maccagno, plus Professor Giuseppe Vittorio Parisi.

The Members Committee will also appoint three auditors, while the board will elect its chairman etc.
Another task performed by the board is the selection of members for the Technical-Cultural Committee, the group of people that manages the practical aspects of all the exhibits.
