Premio Maccagno involves and connects five similar awards on the same territory: Rassegna Internazionale d’Arte Città di Bozzolo - Biennale “Don  Primo Mazzolari” in Bozzolo (Province of Mantova); Premio Biennale di Pittura “Luigi Brambati” in Castiglione d’Adda (Province of Lodi); Premio Morlotti in Imbersago (Province of Lecco); Premio “Rinaldo ed Ermenegildo Agazzi” in Mapello (Province of Bergamo); Rassegna Internazionale “Bice Bugatti - Giovanni Segantini” in Nova Milanese (Provinces of Monza and Brianza)

Premio Maccagno (Maccagno Award) started in 2009 and based its parameters on a newly found sinergy since its inception.
The basic idea is to make the Lombardic awards widely known, as opposed to letting them live a short life circumscribed to the local territory.

The goal and structure have their roots in all the other art awards and their cultural scenes.  The aim is to promote the cultural importance of the award through the combined efforts of those involved in modern art, while giving young artists the chance to display their works and put their names on the map of contemporary art.  This, along with the sinergy of institutions and the uniqueness of the exhibition,  contribute to the advancement of contemporary art. Besides, each award benefits from this collaboration.

Five artists (one from each of the connected awards) will partecipate. There will not be an underlying theme or technique. In fact, the artists will be invited solely for their talent and will be free to partecipate with paintings or sculptures made using any technique they prefer.
The winners will receive two 1,500 euro vouchers, while the absolute winner will be offered a personal  exhibition at Galleria ErrepiArte in Mantova in 2011.
The panel will include art critics, the mayor, Assessore alla Cultura of Maccagno, an official of Direzione Generale Cultura, Identità e Autonomie Regione Lombardia, and by a representative of Assessorato Marketing Territoriale e Identità Culturale Provincia di Varese.

The award will be inaugurated on September 25 and closed on October 31 2010 in Museo Parisi-Valle in Maccagno. The prizegiving ceremony will be held on October 9.

Alongside the award, fifty works will be displayed in the museum’s exhibition. They are by the following twenty-five artists: Elena Amoriello, Angelo Bertoglio, Adalberto Borioli, Mauro Capelli, Angelo Cesana, Chiò, Davide Corona, Mariangela De Maria, Piersandro Del Rio, Alan Fecola, Ilaria Forlini, Antonio Franzetti, Maurizio Galimberti, Marianna Gasperini, Irene Magni, Piermarco Mariani, Andrea Mariconti, Antonio Miano, Cirillo Murer, Ester Negretti, Bernardo Peruta, Giangi Pezzotti, Roberto Sommariva, Paolo Tatavitto and Mario Tettamanti.

Artisti premiati

Con egida del Comune di Maccagno e Patrocinio di Regione Lombardia, si è inaugurato sabato 25 settembre 2010, nelle sale del Museo Civico, il “Premio Maccagno 2010”.

Si tratta della seconda edizione di una importante e innovativa rassegna che raggruppa intorno a sé cinque iniziative istituzionali realizzate nei Comuni lombardi di Bozzolo, Castiglione d’Adda, Imbersago, Mapello e Nova Milanese e coinvolge nel Patrocinio le Province di Bergamo, Lecco, Lodi, Mantova, Monza Brianza e Varese.
Una rete istituzionale a sottolineatura dei Premi d’Arte attivi nel territorio di Lombardia che nel “Premio Maccagno 2010” incontrano nuova risonanza e punto di confluenza.
Da ogni Premio realizzato nei singoli Comuni provengono cinque artisti che espongono due opere ciascuno, per un totale di venticinque presenze e cinquanta opere al Museo di Maccagno.

Sabato 9 ottobre si è svolta la Premiazione ufficiale con la presenza di un folto pubblico, di molti artisti e delle Autorità.

La Giuria ha conferito due Premi Acquisto alle opere
“Ricordi di un viaggio” di Ester Negretti e
“Fotogramma 2” di Mario Tettamanti.

Il Primo Premio, consistente in una mostra personale da realizzarsi a Mantova, con allestimento e ospitalità presso Galleria ErrePi Arte nel 2011, è stato assegnato a Maurizio Galimberti.
