Press release
The fifty new
works that have recently been acquired by the museum will be displayed in this
edition of “Acquisitions”. This is yet another chapter in the project spanning
over a number of years that has as a goal the growth of the museum’s collection.
This project, which was started in 2006, is clear evidence of the museum’s
constant evolution; this is a fundamental requirement for an institution that
truly lives with the territory around it and whose intention is not just
preservation, but communication. Thus the importance of a continuously growing
collection that can be used to create a path though the more profound aspects of
the works, going beyond the formal qualities of the works or the prestige they
carry within themselves.
Educational initiatives, cultural meetings and all the museum’s various projects
will obviously benefit from a large number of works that can be turned into
tools to further increase knowledge.
A museum’s permanent collection mustn’t be considered a sort of secondary,
almost incidental element: it should, in fact, become the frame that supports
the museum itself. This should be the ground in which all the other exhibitions
like seeds should be planted, making the whole picture even wider and offering
an in-depth look into the themes that are developed in time.
The works of the following artists will be displayed in this exhibit:
Sergio Alberti, Janja Arnolj, Sandro Bardelli, Anna Clara Beltrami, Paolo Bonaldi, Angelo Bordiga, Flora Bravin, Wanda Broggi, Angelo Cagnone, Giancarlo Cazzaniga, Gianni Cella, Lino Di Vinci, Alessandro Docci, Oreste Ferrando, Mauro Fornari, Gaetano Fracassio, Grazia Gabbini, Gianantonio Gennari, Giuliano Grittini, Antonio Marchetti Lamera, Adriana Marchetto, Antonio Miano, Maria Molteni, Marcello Morandini, Ettore Moschetti, Sandro Negri, Ugo Nespolo, Giancarlo Ossola, Vincenzo Parea, Raffaele Penna, Giangi Pezzotti, Massimo Piazza, Lorenzo Pietrogrande, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Dolores Previtali, Mario Raciti, Mario Radice, Chiara Ricardi, Charlotte Ritzow, Giovanni Sala, Sergio Sansevrino, Giusi Santoro, Stefano Soddu, Luiso Sturla, Sara Tardonato, Anna Maria Targher, Italo Valenti, Vincenzino Vanetti, Armanda Verdirame, Mario Vergani, Giorgio Vicentini, Bruno Zoppetti.
