Press release

“Acquisitions” is the annual exhibit that displays the latest works to be included in the permanent collection of Civico Museo di Maccagno.

The two previous exhibitions – “Acquisitions 2006” and “Acquisitions 2007” – led to the inclusion of more than a hundred works into the permanent collection;  thanks to this new exhibit, sixty more works will be displayed for the public, who will thus be able to enjoy yet another voyage through contemporary art from Lombardy.

Paintings, sculptures, etchings, all of them developed through many different and personal artistic languages, bear witness to the artistic liveliness and diversity portrayed in this exhibit.

Our museum is becoming more and more aware of its own identity and wants to avoid being a mere container of exhibitions that are not a true part of its nature. At the same time, it wishes to firmly express its goals and aspirations by acquiring a sufficient number of works to allow itself to design exhibits autonomously.

Museum of Maccagno wants to be free from the chains of fads or false aims in order to let the public get acquainted with contemporary art and develop a genuine knowledge and appreciation for it.

The works that will be displayed are by the following artists: Alberto Barbieri, Paolo Barrile, Franco Bassignani, Giacomo Benevelli, Alessandra Bonoli, Claudio Borghi, Adalberto Borioli, Angelo Cagnone, Ferdinando Capisani, Giovanni Cappelli, Loriana Castano, Luigi Cavina, Angelo Cesana, Azelio Corni, Flavio Costantini, Franco Crocco, Francesco Cucci, Francesco Dalmaschio, Loredana De Lorenzi, Veronica Fonzo, Rosanna Forino, Giovanna Fra, Luciano Gatti, Giovanfrancesco Gonzaga, Emanuele Gregolin, Linda Grittini, Luigi Guerricchio, Dino Lanaro , Trento Longaretti, MaGo, Pierantonio Manca, Elena Modorati, Marcello Morandini, Antonio Musella, Ayako Nakamiya, Daniela Novello, Patrizia Novello, Gottardo Ortelli, Lucio Perna, Lucia Pescador, Nada Pivetta, Vittorio Prina, Roberto Rampinelli, Stefania Ranghieri, Grazia Ribaudo, Flavia Robalo, Raffaele Romano, Anna Sala, Ida Rosa Scotti, Tetsuro Shimizu, Caterina Tosoni, Antonietta Viganone, Claudio Zanini, Eugenio Zanon.
