Pressrelease

The Parisi-Valle museum, after dealing with the expressive choices of Informal Art and Abstractism as part of its survey of art’s evolution in the modern era, shifts its attention to a more figurative kind of art. The representation of reality, however, is here perceived through suggestions and hints, allowing the observer to freely interpret it. Modern art has abandoned realism altogether to move into inner territories where free emotion plays a major role, thus leaving behind figurative depictions and the clearly defined stories they portrayed in favor of Rationalism or purely emotional artistic languages. However, a branch of modern art still retains part of the figurative heritage, while allowing the public to attribute identities and perceptions within the artists’ works.

The title we have chosen – Approdi, meaning “Landings” – incorporates concepts of unveiling and taking shapes, as if images finally revealed themselves after a long voyage.
Eleven contemporary artist - sculptors and painters – add their voices to the talk using their personal intonations and languages within the common theme: Giovanni Blandino, Franco Chiarani, Michele Delisi, Alessandro Docci, Armando Fettolini, Maurizio Galimberti, Giuliano Grittini, Alfredo Mazzotta, Dolores Previtali, Vanni Saltarelli, Giorgio Sovana.

The exhibition will feature forty-four diverse works based on different techniques and concepts.
Designed by Claudio Rizzi, sponsored by Regione Lombardia, Comune di Maccagno and Provincia di Varese, the exhibit will open at Civico Museo Parisi Valle on December 4, 2010 and close on February 6, 2011 and it is yet another chapter in contemporary art for the public to enjoy. Complete catalog with bios by Silvia Editrice.
