The exhibit
“Contemporary art in Lombardia – Generation 40’s” is the third chapter in an
ongoing project that started several years ago, designed by Ad Acta Cultural
Association and sponsored by Regione Lombardia, Direzione Generale Culture,
Identità e Autonomie della Lombardia, and in cooperation with Comune di Maccagno.
After the overview and in-depth analysis of both “Generation 50’s” and
Generation 60’s,” the project about contemporary art in Lombardy widens its
scope even further by focusing on “Generation 40’s”.
The exhibit
will be hosted by Museo Parisi-Valle first, then the works will be moved to
Milan at Spazio Guicciardini (February and March 2007) to finally be displayed
in the Modern and Contemporary Art Museum in Gazoldo degli Ippoliti (spring
2007).
This exhibition’s criteria are based on the artists’ professionalism and visual
poetry. The emphasis is on the diverse personalities and on the different
artistic areas of the artists involved in this exhibits that turns into a stage
for strong emotions.
Comune di Maccagno, Provincia di Milano, and Comune of Gazoldo degli Ippoliti
have partecipated to the project, which is also sponsored by Provincia di Varese
and Provincia di Mantova, while Claudio Rizzi designed the exhibition. The
catalog features an introduction by Raffaele de Grada.

The catalog, published by Nicolini Editore, also includes a tribute to Libero Ferretti and Paolo Minoli, along with the works on display and exhaustive information about the artists.
